Objective
Where I Skate is an initiative that aims to raise cultural awareness while reflecting the NAIDOC theme of Always was, Always will be. Through learning about the land that we live, breathe, work, and skate on, Where I Skate appeals to the next generation’s activists who can make a difference while having fun and building lasting bonds at the same time.
Narrative
The narrative behind the design is built around a progressive statement to acknowledge First Nations as the traditional custodians of the Country. The elements of the branding reflect the interwoven physical landscape and topography of the land on which we gather and its stories and history. Skate culture is subtly referenced with wheel shapes and fluid motions—the design aims to help bridge knowledge gaps and strengthen connections to both place and person.
